We want to see all youth safe, supported and housed!

My name is Alexa Young

Our mission is to reduce the number of youth experiencing homelessness in the Annapolis Valley and prevent other youth from becoming homeless altogether.

Together we can accelerate the end of youth and rural homelessness.

Emgergency Shelter Contacts

Though the Portal does not have emergency housing,

  1. Homeless is defined as being unsheltered, staying on someone’s couch, staying in a place not fit for habitation, or in a situation where there is exploitation. The Youth Outreach worker will start the intake process by connecting, building the relationship, and understanding needs. Staff will check on the access to basics like food, immediate health needs, and housing.

  2. If the young person, under 19 years of age is connected to Child Welfare (and has a Social Worker), contact the social worker before you do anything.
